I spent a few days in New York City one summer in high school. I remember standing at the apartment window, looking down at the rush of people filling the streets below. I wasn’t used to such crowds, and I was struck by the thought that every person I saw was living a unique story of their own. That idea has stayed with me and resurfaced many times over the years.

My formal education includes an undergraduate degree in journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill, a master’s degree in publication design from the University of Baltimore, and, more recently, a photography certificate from Randolph Community College as I work toward completing the full program. In one way or another, I’ve been telling stories for as long as I can remember.

In more recent years, I helped my husband create beautiful smiles through his orthodontic practice. Now, it’s time for me to capture those smiles as they are being lived and shared. Don’t be surprised if you see him tagging along as my assistant. We make a great team.
